Belated Birthday Wishes

I think belated birthday wishes are GREAT! Don't you think they are the perfect way to say ..... "I'm sorry I forgot, but I made it up to you." Sometimes when it's someones birthday I either forget or just run out of time. That's what happens when I leave everything to the last possible minute. I do that way to often.

Belated Wish # 1

I wish you happiness, with the slightest delay,
Your birthday has passed, but we can still play.

Belated Wish # 2

Don't be upset, since I did not forget,
On the way to the party, I got caught in a net!

Belated Wish # 3

Happy birthday, I know I'm late,
I forgot, I'll be straight.

Belated Wish # 4

I hope your wishes did come true,
I am late, I had the flu!

Haven't you noticed that these belated wishes, are filled with excuses? Well that's what makes them funny. We have all forgotten birthdays on occasion. Share one of these funny belated birthday poems when you do forget. I shared the birthday poem below with a friend who lives in Vancouver. I emailed it to her, and she couldn’t stop laughing.

Belated Irony

Yesterday? Tomorrow?
I didn’t forget.
When is your birthday?
It can’t be today.

During winters heat,
Summers frost.
When is your birthday?
It can’t be today.

Aging younger,
Adult to child.
When is your birthday?
It can’t be today.

From cradle to womb,
Eyes smile, touch sweet.
When is your birthday?
It must be today.

Don't be so hard on yourself. With our busy lifestyles, we forget sometimes.

Belated Birthday Wishes

A birthday belated,
I know you have waited.
Has it been another year?
My apologies are sincere.

When I realized I forgot,
My old stomach formed a knot.
Our adventures came to mind,
And your deeds that are so kind.

Hope you had the greatest time,
Entertained by a funny mime.
A belated birthday wish,
With the most delicious dish.

Belated Birthday Poem

Seems your birthday came and went,
Money saved and money spent.
Weeks ago this card was sent,
In my imagination.

Weeks ago, I bought and signed,
This birthday card with you in mind.
Now, if you would be so kind,
Take this congratulation.

I wish that I could say to you,
This little error to undo.
But promises kept are far too few,
Among this generation.

So, far away, unseen I stand,
Facing you with heart in hand.
Hope it was no less than grand,
Your birthday celebration.
